Cliffe Woods, Clayton West…

…is a village woodland park with some history.  Landscaped and used over a century ago and once a thriving social hub of the community, Cliffe Woods and Park is now a shadow of it’s former self. But a group of local volunteers have taken up the challenge to both conserve the site and restore it to full glory. And we want everyone to join in!

Come and help us… be a part of the project!

The Project…

The conservation team are constantly maintaining the memorial garden to the right of the entrance, as well as making ongoing improvement to the pathways and steps.

See pictures of our work in progress in the gallery pages, or follow us on Facebook.

Work is still in progress on what was once Cliffe Park, now nicknamed ‘The Secret Garden’, as it was once so overgrown, it couldn’t even be seen from the main path.  Now cleared, picnic tables and seating have been installed, and a wood sculpture created by local artist Heather Crompton.

Can you give us some time? Let us know… by text or phone.
